ITINERARY:
DAY 01: ARRIVAL BANGKOK
On arrival in Bangkok, transfer to your hotel for check in and overnight in Bangkok.
DAY 02: TOUR BANGKOK
After Breakfast, start to walk amongst the vivacious streets of bustling Bangkok and float along the Chao Phraya River on a lovely longtail boat to discover the sparkling Grand Palace and Wat Arun. Enjoy some free time to get amongst some of Asia’s best shopping and taste some of the world’s best Thai cuisine.
DAY 03-06: CHIANG MAI
After breakfast, drive to Thailand’s historic capital, Ayutthaya to explore the fascinating collection of temples. Return to Bangkok for your flight to Chiang Mai.
Upon on Chiang Mai, A walking tour of the Old City reveals the culture, both old and new, before learning more about Buddhism when you meet a resident monk and receive a blessing. Enjoy a taste of Thailand with a market tour before continuing on to a cooking demonstration. Visit the community-based project of Mae Klang Luang Ecotourism Community in Doi Inthanon, enjoy a jungle trek passing beautiful local scenery and waterfalls. Try your hand in the terraced rice fields and meet the local children in the nursery school Move on to Doi Suthep temple, and admire the stunning views from its temple. Enjoy a farewell dinner with fellow group members. On your last day, enjoy free time until your departure transfer to Luang Phrabang.
DAY 07-09: LUANG PHRABANG
Continue embraking on boat along the Mekong River, photo stop at the Pak Ou Caves to witness the hundreds of Buddha effigies placed within, then on to Luang Prabang.
The next day, explore the town’s famous sites on foot, including Xieng Thong, the tip of the peninsula, Wat Mai and the Royal Palace. Have ample free time, then follow with a game of petanque and sunset drinks. Rise early to witness the breathtaking ancient ritual of local monks collecting alms at dawn, and then visit a morning market. Behold the beautiful Kuang Si Falls. Overnight In Luang Phrabang.
DAY 10-11: VIENTIANE
After breakfast, transfer to airport for take fly to Vientiane, the rapidly developing capital of Laos. Explore some of the city’s most famous landmarks, such as the National Museum and Wat Pha That Luang. At the interactive COPE centre, reflect on the problems unexploded ordinances have caused in this peaceful land and what this fantastic organisation is doing to help.
The next day includes a stop at a local coffee shop to taste traditional Lao coffee, visits to Wat Sisaket, Wat Haw Phra Kaew and Patuxai, and a free afternoon for shopping or relaxing. Farewell your stay in Laos, at a traditional Lao Baci ceremony in a local home. On your last day in Laos, enjoy free time until your departure transfer.
DAY 12-14: YANGON - INLE LAKE
Fly to Yangon. Take a short walk to see the city’s British-colonial architecture and the Indian Quarter, which offers an insight into local life, as well as the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda. Fly to Heho and transfer to Inle Lake. A tour of the lake begins with the morning market, where you meet people from the surrounding hilltribe villages. Continue on to the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the lake is main sanctuary, which contains five Sacred Buddha images. Learn about local crafts at a weaving village, silversmith and a cheroot ‘factory’, and see how typical Burmese cigars are made by hand. Explore the Pa-oh village of In Dein on foot and see the beautiful ruined ancient stupas of Alaung Sitthou.
DAY 15 - 17 : TOUR BAGAN
Transfer to Heho for a morning flight to Bagan. A half-day for city tour includes Shwezigon Pagoda and the famous Ananda Temple, before a sunset view over the stunning vistas of Bagan from a top a beautiful terraced pagoda. Visit Minnathu Village for an insight into local life, and continue to see the imposing 12th century Dhammayazika Paya. Discover the local handicrafts at a workshop. Overnight in Bangan.
DAY 18: DEPARTURE
On your last day, spend time at leisure until your departure transfer
